Description

UCLA Extension’s Entertainment Studies Department is currently accepting applications for an instructor for the course, Touring, Tour Accounting, and Merchandising. In order to be considered, applicants must have current and/or recent concert tour management experience and be available to teach an in-person course during the Winter quarter; specifically Wednesday evenings from 7pm to 10pm, January 8h through March 18th.

Instructors will develop a syllabus that covers all topics in the Touring, Tour Accounting, and Merchandising course description:

Discover the fundamental aspects of the concert touring industry. This course guides students through the entire touring process from planning to settling live performances. Participants gain an understanding of such different tour revenue streams as ticket sales, sponsorship income, and merchandising. Students also learn how to maximize tour profits through effective marketing, promotion, budgeting, and monitoring. Instruction includes lectures, industry guest speakers, and discussion.
